152 Artwalk Returns
Friday March 28th 4-7
The last 152 Artwalk we had back in April 2022 ….was a big success, so we decided to launch it again.
If you missed the one back in 2022 here’s your chance to be a part of it.
As you come around the curves on hwy 152 and dip into the Hillsboro district, you’ll start seeing signs about the art walk. The first stop you’ll want to make will be the red sign that says MAPS and look for Happy Flats Gift shop. The map will show you where the venues are and the happenings.
The Black Range Museum will be open with extended hours and new exhibits for the art walk. You can see the new coach house, plans for the new backyard landscaping and community space. There will be an updated Hillsboro Walking Tour Map available for all visitors. Gift shop artists will be giving demonstrations and local writers will be signing their books.
Next door to the museum “this Old house” will be open to the public for the first time in awhile with rare antiques and cast iron.
The new Hillsboro Farm Market will be featuring new vendors, their famous honey, a hotdog stand, Local Silversmith, Julie Fenton-Young with her one of a kind pieces, art by Eric Luther and other vendors with their creative wares.
The local picking circle will be playing music adjacent to the park. The market place will feature jewelry, vintage clothing and more.
Across the street is Sue’s Antiques where you can find wonderful treasures from “old Hillsboro”.
Further down the street The Rio Abajo Rio will be slinging homemade pie for sale. Back to the future where there were once lines for pie at the Hillsboro Apple Festival.
Tara Gale will be set up outside the Rio Abajo Rio with her handmade healing apothecary items for sale. An introduction to a long awaited apothecary that will be located in Hillsboro. Alongside the apothecary will be Niamh’s Sleeves, showcasing and selling her Art Shirts, with original artwork that will make your eyes pop.
Nextdoor will be “Artplay” with Kristin Boren. Come play and walk away with your own creative art piece.
Across the street you’ll find Jody’s Garage Sale with “unique finds” her and her husband collected throughout the years.
Then you’ll arrive in heart of downtown where the Hillsboro Tradin’ Post will be open with a live music on the patio with Stevie Bluetone and Creosote. Here you can find new and used musical instruments, leather goods, laser engravings, horse hair jewelry and a secret candy shop.
The “old barbershop” downtown will be open with a pop-up art gallery with Patricia Anders, hailing from Ojai California. Not to be missed!
Keep walking down 152 until you get to the historical Enchanted Villa B&B you’ll see beautifully painted garage doors and you’ll know you’ve arrived at Persnicky Shop. Full of clothing and collectibles, much like a time capsule.
Amidst the crowd you may run into a Singing grandpa or a Mysterious Merchant providing oddities for sale and trade, accompanied by their Minstrel companion and do gooder.
Rumor has it if you dress up like a buzzard you get a free slice of Pie!
We look forward to celebrating a creative future with you and hope to see you at our second annual artwalk.
Exciting! We play tennis there on the courts behind the library. Hillsboro is quite a wonderful interesting and inviting village!
