The Sierra county flood commission has posted this event on their webpage:
August 2: Public Input Requested on Flood Projects. The public is invited to, please, attend a public meeting, August 2, 2023, at 6 PM, at the Albert Lyon Event Center. Share your priorities and suggestions with the Sierra County Flood Commissioner pertaining to possible 2023/24 project proposals. All attendees will be allotted 3 minutes to speak, with additional time if desired after others have had an opportunity to present their suggestions. According to Carrejo, Flood commissioner Sandy Jones is trying this method to hear from the public. The response will determine if there will be future meetings of this sort.

At that time, the annual mil levy generated from the property taxes of all Sierra county property owners was about $447,000 and there was approximately $1.4M in the fund that could be used for projects.
