“N.M. Senate narrowly rejects ban on immigrant detention, supporters warn abuses will carry on”
The upper chamber of New Mexico’s Legislature voted yesterday to once again reject a proposal that would have barred local governments from hiring federal immigration police to detain people for civil violations of federal immigration law. Some Democrats join Republicans to kill legislation.

So if people don’t violate immigration laws, they don’t end up in substandard facilities….. seems pretty simple, stay in your own country and if you want to immigrate, do it legally. Why is that so hard to grasp? Why do we allow this continuous invasion and siphon on our tax dollars. It’s not compassion to enable poverty, especially at our expense.
