The NM Indivisible Young Artists Fellowship was conceived as a cross-generational project to uplift young people’s voices. The organization feels that supporting young people to become more involved in the challenging issues of our times is one of the best things we can do.
Any young artist in New Mexico (age 18-30) who wants to make a difference in their community should consider joining the NM Indivisible Young Artists Fellowship! The organization believes that blending art with activism can be a powerful force for change, and they’re looking for creative change-makers who share that passion. Through their fellowship program, they intend to work with young artists to turn their art into a tool for motivation towards social change.
As a fellowship participant, young artists have the opportunity to collaborate with mentors and other artists in New Mexico, while using their talent to draw attention to important issues and inspire their community to vote. The organization is currently seeking artists of all kinds, including illustrators, graphic designers, painters, photographers, muralists and more, who are based in New Mexico.
If selected, they’ll produce three to five visual art pieces between July and Sept 2023, and receive a $1,000 honorarium. The artists fellowship will be an online remote program, but will meet in person in Truth or Consequences, NM on October 13-15TH, for an in-person retreat. The weekend will include a gallery reception and showcase of their work, attending an artist panel, and participating in a collaborative project with fellow members in their program. These artworks will be used in media campaigns giving the winners even more exposure to the public.
This is a great opportunity to build leadership skills and gain visibility as an artist. For those interested in applying the deadline is May 15th.
