    • I don’t know why the Citizen is promoting ‘gender affirming care’ for youth. I think the reason is because you all don’t know what it actually means. If you did i don’t think you’d be promoting it.

Are you aware that the UK has put restrictions on it? that multiple states are putting restrictions on it? that many consider this practice to be one which we will regret in years to come?

Gender Affirming Care uses hormone blockers and therapies that have irreversible effects. 14 y/o’s are not able to provide informed consent, they’re not old enough to understand what they’re consenting to.

Many lawsuits are already underway. Chloe Cole is an example. As a news outlet, i feel it is your responsibility to provide all perspectives.
Today the Attorney General of Missouri released this statement regarding gender affirming care for youth – https://ago.mo.gov/home/news/2023/03/20/missouri-attorney-general-andrew-bailey-announces-emergency-regulation-on-gender-transition-interventions-for-minors

The UK started restricting GAC for youth a few years ago – https://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-lgbt-transgender-trfn-idUSKBN28B3AV

and here’s info on Chloe Cole’s lawsuit- https://www.dhillonlaw.com/lawsuits/chloe-cole-v-kaiser-permanente/

These are all part of the story and it’s the responsibility of a news outlet to provide all sides. Kids are being manipulated by peer pressure and a broken medical system to forever change their bodies in ways we don’t yet understand- can we get some factual or objective reporting on this? or does every single issue today come down to 2 sides, either blue or red- no nuance at all??
