“New division seeks to promote New Mexico’s creative sector”

The new Creative Industries Division of the New Mexico Economic Development Department is intended to provide grants to individuals and organizations engaged in the creative arts, an important if undersupported sector of the state’s economy. But it was funded with a one-off appropriation of $2 million, making its continuing operation among the many organizational challenges the divison will face when it opens in July.
