Local Black Range History Presentation on Saturday August 5th

The Hillsboro Historical Society would like you to join them for a presentation about the Black Range Highway. Titled “The Black Range Highway: A Road Story,” this program is presented by Joe Britton of the Hillsboro Historical Society and Historical Society of New Mexico.
Joe will trace the dramatic history of this beautiful road — a road which is also Hillsboro’s main street. The Black Range Highway over Emory Pass to Silver City was an engineering marvel back in 1935. For nearly 30 years this was a dirt road until it was finally paved in 1964.
This program takes place on Saturday August 5 at 4 pm at the Hillsboro Community Center located at 316 Elenora St. in Hillsboro, NM. For more information contact bluehare@ctaz.com. The event is sponsored by Hillsboro Historical Society with all donations benefiting HHS.
