“More emergency aid for flooding heading to the Black Fire burn scar in southern NM”

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed an emergency declaration for Sierra County due to flooding on Monday, October 3. This is the fourth county near the Black Fire burn scar to receive emergency funding and resources in a month. These orders provide $750,000 for the state’s Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to repair destruction and prevent future damage in each county.

  1. Winston needs a bridge over hwy 52n at mile marker #28. Failure for the county to lease or purchase land parallel to the highway for the construction of a long bridge would be negligence and a failure to discharge an oath of office. There is a very high likelihood that someone will die unless ambulances can access Winston area during heavy rains much less flooding!
