I SOOOOOO want to encourage the Spaceport after all the energy and tax dollars that us Sierra County folks have added to the development of this project only to see NO return on our investment of sales tax dollars. It’s gonna be a hard sell to the early ‘victims’ of false hopes. NONE of the anticipated buck have come to Sierra County residents! The new ‘shortcut’ highway that cuts Sierra County and TorC out of even “drive through” dollars was a major blow to us. The gazillionaires who pay big bucks for tickets don’t stay here, don’t check out our wares, don’t even buy our expensive gas!! They don’t even have to pay sales tax on tickets to ride (who ever came up with THAT idea!!!) If they can afford a quarter/half million bucks for the ride they can afford the same outrageous GRT that we do on groceries to support the infrastructure!!! GET REAL – dissing the locals is NOT COOL if you want support! Remember the sugar in the gas tanks of the Edward Abbey days; we do!! That’s not a threat but a request for understanding that the locals have given more than their share of the energy that built the beast!!!!
I told Sierra county what would happen as soon as I heard Branson was part of it. Everything I said would happen, happened & more! Brandon & his associates will continue to bleed this county & state until your in Santa Fe turn off the faucet.bb
