“’Land of Enchantment Legacy Fund’ Opens Feds Pocketbook”

New Mexico is home to one of the most diverse landscapes in the U.S., yet the state has no permanent source of land and water conservation funding, leaving millions of available federal funds on the table each year instead of being used to help local communities better prepare for and address environmental challenges. Senate Bill 9 would rectify this by creating a recurring pool of dedicated matching conservation funds.
