Although August 18 will be the last day water is delivered to Mesilla Valley farmers, Gary Esslinger, interim manager of the Elephant Butte Irrigation District, said the Rio Grande will continue to flow in southern New Mexico through the middle of September to reach El Paso and Mexico’s irrigation districts and fill water orders.

“Virgin Galactic completes second commercial flight, first carrying private passengers”

Virgin Mothership (VMS) Eve left the runway at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, August 10, from Spaceport America’s Horizontal Launch Area, with Virgin Spaceship (VSS) Unity holding the passengers. The flight, known as Galactic 02, lasted one hour.
