“Settlement deadline looms in Rio Grande Supreme Court case”

An agreement to resolve the pending U.S. Supreme Court dispute over Rio Grande water is approaching its ‘drop-dead’ date of September 23. A settlement would resolve a nearly decade-old lawsuit in which Texas has alleged New Mexico’s pumping of groundwater below Elephant Butte Dam violates a 1938 agreement to share the water.

“Couy Griffin on Trial: A Tale of Two Realities”

If found guilty in a recent bench trial in Santa Fe of betraying his oath of office to defend the Constitution by participating in the January 6 insurrection, Griffin would not be allowed to serve out his term on the Otero County Commission, which ends in December, or run for another office. Griffin is thinking about running for Catron County sheriff.
