Upcoming SCAC Membership Party

It’s time to mark your calendar to attend a prime social event of the Sierra County Arts Council (SCAC) — the annual SCAC membership party. The annual membership party for the Sierra County Arts Council will take place Saturday February 1st at Grapes Gallery at 407/409 Main St. in Truth or Consequences. The evening begins at 6 p.m. and features live entertainment by the RGEE Trio. This bash is a chance to immerse yourself in the artistic community, enjoy delicious food and beverages catered by Destiny Mitchell, and renew your membership.

It’s also a great opportunity to sign up as a new member. The Sierra County Arts Council supports all aspects of art including fine art, performance art and creative writing. The Arts Council is open to all artists and art entities in Sierra County. But anyone wishing to support the efforts of the arts council is also invited to join. More information on this community organization and its activities can be found at the SCAC website: www.sierracountyarts.org.

This is more than just a social gathering. 2024 was a season of change for the Arts Council with new projects, new personnel and renewed energy. In addition to the introduction of the new SCAC board, attendees will get updated on projects the SCAC has initiated in 2024 and learn more about goals and plans for new projects in 2025 and beyond. You will also receive an overview of the scope of SCAC activities, and its involvement and support of art and cultural events.

Membership in the SCAC is not required to attend this event but a small entry fee will be charged for non-members. If you’ve ever wondered just what the SCAC is and what it does and how to join and support it, this is the place to be. Saturday — February 1st — Grapes Gallery — 6 p.m.
