New ownership at Dam Site Historic District
The new managers of the Dam Site Historic District sent out this press release today. Although apparently targeting their marina patrons, the release was sent to others impacted by the change in management as well. From the new owners:
Hello Slip Members,
Earlier this week, Marina Vista finalized the purchase of Lago Rico, Inc. from the Brown Family. We would like to take a moment of your time and introduce ourselves.
Marina Vista is owned by the Meiusi family who also own and operate Clinton Marina in Lawrence, KS. At the heart of our operations is a deep commitment to exceptional service to our guests. Our partner Rick Redpath is permanently relocating from Tucson to manage day-to-day operations. Rick has decades of both marina and hospitality experience. We are all thrilled to be the new stewards of the Marina Del Sur, Dam Site Marina and Dam Site Lodging.
Owners Peter & Erin Meiusi are dedicated to preserving the legacy of this beautiful lake while providing fresh energy and innovative ideas to enhance your experience In the spirit of honoring tradition while embracing progress, we are delighted to share some exciting initiatives we have planned:
Live Music Lakeside: STARTING THIS SUMMER ! Prepare to be serenaded by the sounds of talented musicians as we bring live music to the shores of Elephant Butte Lake. Our aim is to make these events accessible for both slip holders and the local community.
Authentic Merchandise: We will be coordinating with local artists and creatives this coming offseason to refresh the marina’s merchandise. The history and culture of this area is something to be celebrated and worn proudly!
Expanded Food & Beverage Options: Look for additional food and beverage options at the lake as we settle into the new ownership.
Facility Enhancements: We’re committed to continuously improving our facilities to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.
Collaboration with Bureau of Reclamation: We’re currently working closely with the Bureau of Reclamation to bring back the glory of the Historic Dam Site restaurant, offering you a taste of history with a side of scenic views!
We will be hosting a slip holder “Meet & Greet” Sunday June 23rd from 12 – 2pm with live music . Come meet the new team as well as your fellow slip members! This event will be held at the Dam Site Marina in an effort to keep it private for the slip member community. Stay tuned for additional details
Future slip payments should be made out to Marina Vista not Lago Rico. Additional information will be forthcoming as soon as possible.
As we embark on this journey together, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of Marina Del Sur and Dam Site Marina. Your feedback, ideas, and support are invaluable to us as we strive to create unforgettable experiences for you and your loved ones.
Here’s to new beginnings and endless adventures on the water!
Warm regards,
Peter & Erin Meiusi

(Author comment): We expect upcoming information might include any changes in the rate structure on not only slip rentals but also casita rentals. campground fees or longer-term lodging and lodge rentals. Plans had been in the works for infrastructure improvements as well and we hope to hear more about that too. Stay tuned,

For an extended period (years) the internet has needed increased bandwidth. The current range is 1.9 to 3.1 Mbps. Many of us have kindly requested but the challenge remains. Please address this issue since some of us need to occasionally work remotely to enjoy the lake over the course of the week. Thanks
Contact the new owners directly regarding this.
Will they be supporting the polar bear plunge again? I’d like to see more access for people to view and participate in easily.
This is something you need to take up with the new owners directly.
Glad to hear that someone was able to keep the Dam Site alive !! It has always been part of so many peoples lives and history!! Bravo
I have been going to the Dam site sense the 70′ when the lake was full and bands played on the patio. The restaurant had great food and drinks. Very fun times. Looking forward to going back there with my out of town friends. Maybe the water level will raise like it was. Happy for the new owners.
