Hometown History Day at Damsite

Relive history, even become part of it during Hometown History Day at Damsite this coming Saturday, November 18, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Take a guided boat ride from either Marina Del Sur or Damsite Marina—boats run between the two marinas all day. At Del Sur you’ll meet T or C historian Dimid Hayes who has historical photos and mementos from the Geronimo Springs Museum. Also on hand will be books by local authors for sale. Enjoy a free hot dog and hot chocolate and other beverages while Dimid tells you about T or C’s connection to the dam. You can start or end your day at either marina.

At the Historic District you’ll have your choice of several walks and talks—see the schedule below—by Damsite historian Will Dooley. Soups (by donation) will be on hand. Throughout the day fabulous door prizes will be awarded.

Our area of New Mexico has incredible historic importance, so join us to learn all about it. For more information call 575-894-2073 (Damsite Welcome Center).
